We will work with you to evaluate the level of care that is necessary to improve your loves one's quality of life. We offer a variety of services to give our residents the specific care they need, including:

Skilled Therapy and Rehabilitation
Licensed physical therapists are on site to provide therapy services for those in needs. Residents receive treatment for strengthening and independence, with many able to return to their homes. With proper treatment and determination residents often return to their home stronger than before they were hospitalized.

Skilled Nursing Services
Licensed staff on duty 24 hours a day 7 days a week can provide skilled nursing services including IV therapy, wound care, internal (tube) feedings, medication administration, respiratory treatments, rehabilitation services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, as well as many other services.

Medication Administration
Qualified staff carefully track and administer all medications given to each resident.

Alternative Meal Choices and Meal Times
An always available menu is provided when residents wish to choose something other than what is on the prepared menu. Residents can choose when they eat their meals if they wish.

Special Diets and Snacks
We also accommodate the special and therapeutic dietary needs of each resident. Our dietary staff prepares delicious and nutritious meals made from recipes designed by certified dieticians.

Living Areas
Our home includes a spacious dining area, a relaxing living room, and two large outdoor patios for activities and enjoyment. We also offer a private family room for your special visits. While every room comes completely furnished, you and your loved one are encouraged to personalize your living space.

Activities
The Activities Program is overseen by a full-time Activity/Social Services Director. Programs include pet therapy, movies complete with popcorn, Bingo, gardening, and a wide variety of entertainment

Resident Council: Residents are included in developing activity calendars to accommodate their preferences. The resident Council meets regularly to give a voice to the matters that impact life at Skiatook Nursing Home.

Off Site Activities: Throughout the year the activity staff schedules activities away from the facility. Residents are taken on shopping trips, fishing trips, to the casino, movies, restaurants, picnics and other special outings that they may choose. Past outings have included trips to the Tulsa Drillers ballgames, the Oklahoma Aquarium, and the Tulsa Zoo.

Personal Care (Bathing/Dining Assistance)
Assistance with personal care needs are provided with dignity and respect.

Occupational and Speech Therapy Services
Licensed Occupational Therapists are on site to provide services for residents in need of upper body strengthening and coordination and recover or maintain daily living skills.

Transportation (Shopping, Errands, and Physician Appointments)
Staff transport residents on shopping trips and accompany if desired. Physician appointments, errands, family get together when requested, via wheelchair accessible van.

On-site Services

  • Beauty/Barber Shop Services are provided weekly by volunteers under the supervision of a licensed Beautician as a courtesy to the residents. Services include haircuts, shampoo, set, and permanents.

  • Housekeeping and Laundry Services provided daily. Rooms are cleaned by considerate caring staff respectful of resident’s belongings and personal preferences.

  • Physician Visits Available: Physicians make visits to the facility for the convenience of resident’s and family members. Resident’s also frequently make visits to physician offices as well as seeing specialists.

  • Oxygen Services are provided by State approved providers who maintain the equipment for oxygen delivery.

  • Vision and Dental Services are provided onsite by Licensed Professionals. Vision exams and glasses are provided. Dentures and Dental procedures can be completed onsite for convenience to the resident.

  • Wound Care Consultation is available for residents who may need the expertise of professionals who specialize in wound healing and the most effective and current products and techniques proven to be successful.

  • X-ray Services are available on-site by qualified technicians for residents in need of x-ray services. This allows for continuity of care allowing the resident to remain at their home unless further treatment is deemed necessary. Other diagnostic testing is available when ordered by the primary care physician.

  • Hospice Services are provided when deemed necessary family members can choose the hospice they prefer. Facility staff works in union with hospice staff to provide the best practicable level of care and promote dignity at the end of life.

  • Safety and Security measures are taken to ensure the wellbeing of our residents. All of our exit doors have secure keypad entry systems, and additional safety features include safety handrails throughout the building, grab-bars and call-lights in the bathroom, in-room assistance notification systems and fire protection with 24 hour off-site monitoring.

We work with our residents to provide information and support when it comes to filing necessary paperwork to alleviate the burden when you need most. Medicare, Medicaid, and Private Pay accepted.
